Ermalina Morales, 79, of Wattenberg, passed away January 15, 2017. She was born September 19, 1937 in El Agila, NM to Juan Tenorio and Aurora Quintana. She married Tom Morales, Jr. on January 12, 1957 in Brighton.
Ermalina was born in New Mexico and moved to Brighton, Colorado at the age of six and has lived in the Wattenberg area for the last 60 years. She attended schools in Brighton and was a member at both St. Augustine Catholic Church and St. William Catholic Church. She worked as a Cook and Baker at Vikan Middle School and Brighton High School in District 27J for 25 years, retiring in 1993. She was known for her baking talents throughout her family and was proud of the fact that everything was made from scratch.
She is survived by her husband, Tom Morales, Jr. of Wattenberg; two children, Joanne (Mike) Stevens of Firestone and Tom (Angie) Morales of Firestone; seven siblings, Manuel (Virginia) Tenorio of Brighton, Prax (Jose) Sisneros of Lakewood, Dorothy Garcia of Brighton, Bobby (Priscilla) Tenorio of Brighton, Jenny (Manuel) Baca of Evans, Fred (Naomi) Tenorio of Brighton, Carmen (Steve) Lopez of Lakewood; four grandchildren, Nathan, Matthew, Alyssa and Tommy. Other survivors include many in-laws, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Ermalina is preceded in death by both parents and one sister, Josie Bueno.
The Rosary Service will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 7:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Friday, January 20, 2017 at 11:00am, both at St. William Catholic Church. Interment at Ft. Logan National Cemetery.
