Aims Community College English Honor Society donates 200 books to the children’s library at the Monfort Family Clinic

GREELEY, CO – March 14, 2017– The Aims Community College English Honor Society (AEHS) organized and donated more than 200 books to the AEHS sponsored children’s library at the Monfort Family Clinic located at 2930 11th Avenue in Evans.

Students reached out to the community to receive donated books. Books are collected year-round for the library by contacting Aims’ Associate Professor of English megan.friesen@aims.edu.

“The English Honor Society has definitely shown community stewardship with their efforts to bring literature to more young readers,” said Aims’ President Dr. Leah L. Bornstein. “This is a wonderful project for our students to give back to the community.”

AEHS painted and furnished the children’s library three years ago and restocks the library each year.

“It’s been amazing to be active in the community and to learn from these opportunities through Aims and the English Honor Society,” said AEHS member Cody Gamet. “It feels good to come here and support literature and children’s lives through reading.”

Club co-advisor Chelle Costello agrees. “It’s great to see so many books being actively loved and connecting those who have excess books with those who need them,” she said.
