Father Allan, Pastor of Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Mead provided an update on construction at the Church. Father Allan shared the first Mass at the Church was on January 1st, 2011. He has been Pastor since 2013. His enthusiasm and passion is certainly contagious. Father Allan believes that Mead has a bright future, providing a safe and secure community with good family and faith values, a great school system, a touch of rural family life but close enough to the interstate to provide easy commuting distance to other areas of the state and a wonderful group of caring residents.
The first phase of the project is the Parish Center which should have its flooring poured in the next week or so. Below is an aerial shot of the current state of the construction. Father Allan believes that the construction is proceeding on schedule and should meet the target completion time of early December of this year. Larson & Encitti Architects, based in Denver, are the architect for the project. Construction is by Krische Construction, a 29 year old Longmont firm. Father Allan is proud of the fact that a number of local subcontractors are doing the work.
Father Allan shared pictures of the alter for the Church, which is in storage in Mead. The piece came from Blessed Sacrament Parish in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and was carved in the late 1800’s. The size of the piece is impressive, 22 feet tall by 17 feet wide. As you can see from the picture below.
Father Allan thanks all his parishioners and the many others from outside the area who have contributed to support the project. He and they certainly believe in the great future ahead for Mead!
